The Bellinger River District Poultry Club has overseen the poultry section at the Bellingen Show for over 45 years. The club re-established itself on 6th May 1976 and there are still 3 members in the club playing active rolls today who attended that inaugural meeting! 2025 Schedule will be available in March.
The Bellinger River District Poultry Club
In recent years we have seen numbers in the vicinity of 300 birds exhibited at the Bellingen Show. The different classes available for exhibitors are listed in the Poultry Schedule.
There are far too many breeds to mention here, but be assured that there will be something in the poultry pavilion to excite any poultry or bird enthusiast. This area has many game fowl breeders and the quality of these birds is excellent. Although there are not as many soft feather breeders in this area the quality is also excellent.
Some breeders will be taking their birds to other shows on the Sunday, but there will still be plenty of birds to see on the second day. Local poultry enthusiasts will be at the show on both days and will be happy to answer any questions.
On the first Saturday of each month (except May) the club holds a poultry sale at the showground. The sale is run in conjunction with the local Growers Market and you will find information about this sale on the Bellinger River District Poultry Club Facebook page.
